Bengaluru, Sep 19: BJP in their quest to bring down the coalition government has failed miserably once again. On the contrary, the party is facing anxious moments of losing their own MLAs to the Congress party.
Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has decided to give a fitting answer to the BJP for its 'Operation Kamala' tactics and is hell-bent on attracting the BJP MLAs to JD (S) by offering them minister position. One ministerial berth is vacant at present and it is learnt that it is kept as an offer to the BJP MLA who is ready to join JD (S).
In addition, Kumaraswamy is seriously thinking of asking two ministers of JD (S) from Mandya and Tumkur to resign in order to save the government. Rumours are making rounds that five BJP MLAs are going to join JD (S) within a month.
In the midst of all these developments, BJP, which has taken aback by the sudden turn of events, is forced to put a stop to its 'Operation Kamala' as its attempt to bring in 18 MLAs of the opposition into their party did not bear fruit and their efforts were limited to entice only six MLAs.
Failure of state BJP enrages Shah
Amit Shah is extremely upset with the state BJP leaders, who failed for the second time in succession to bring down the coalition government through 'Operation Kamala'. It is learnt that he is disgusted over the fact that the image of the party has also been battered due to the accusation by the opposition parties that real estate industrialists and casino kingpins were involved in the operation. As per the information available from the reliable sources, Shah has strictly warned the state BJP leaders not to indulge in this kind of futile effort and concentrate only on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
BJP failed in 'Number Game'
State leaders of BJP, who started to entice the ruling coalition MLAs through Operation Kamala made all attempts to gather the magic number of 18 MLAs by hook or crook to change their allegiance and join BJP. They believed in using the Jarakiholi brothers for this cause. However, as the information of the malicious intention of BJP got leaked, Congress and JD (S), which got alerted made a counter attack and offered bait to BJP MLAs to join the ruling party. The strong and quick stance taken by the chief minister himself and D K Shivakumar of the Congress party upset the plan of BJP.
State BJP still hopeful
Even after all these developments and setback, it seems that team Yeddyurappa of state BJP is making an attempt behind the scenes to send a message to the national BJP leaders that their effort in bringing down the coalition government is successful. It is learnt that BJP is expecting that some internal rivalry will brew in Congress as well as JD (S) after the extension of cabinet and BJP can make a third attempt to pull the coalition government down on such a situation.
