Muttayya Naik
The family lives near Jattigeshwara shrine at Kambalagadde. Muttayya used to come home fully drunk evey night and fought with the family members. The two younger brothers were thereafter accused of tying up their elder brother and killing Muttayya by tightening a rope around his neck on April 26, 2018. It was said that in order to project this death as suicide, they had burnt down the body of their elder brother in a thicket near their home at 7.30 pm the same day. They had spread the information that their elder brother had gone missing all of a sudden. The police had arrested the accused on April 28.
It was said that the brothers had burnt down the nylon rope used by them to bind Muttayya in order destroy any trace of evidence. However, a few pieces of bones found among the ashes in the funeral pyre were sent by the police to forensic science laboratory. The laboratory had confirmed that the bones belonged to Muttayya Naik.
A case in this connection had been registered in Byndoor police station. Advocate from here, Ravikiran Murdeshwar, had represented the accused in the court.
