Bengaluru, Sep 20: After helping in dousing the brewing revolt by the Jarkiholi brothers in Belagavi district, former Chief Minister and JD(S)-Congress coalition coordination committee chairman Siddaramaiah has strongly condemned the opposition BJP for its ‘shameless’ bid to topple the HD Kumaraswamy government.
Siddaramaiah, who is in Delhi for discussions with AICC President Rahul Gandhi and other Central party leaders on the reported dissensions within the Karnataka unit of Congress, especially the banner of revolt sought to be raised by the Jarkiholi brothers – Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi and elder brother Satish Jarkiholi, Siddaramaiah on Thursday said the voters will teaching a fitting lesson to the BJP in the 2019 general elections.
The former Chief Minister, who has just returned from a two-week-long Europe tour along with his son Dr Yathindra and other some other MLAs, said the no MLA from the Congress would quit the party and support the BJP.
Siddaramaiah, who held talks with party president Rahul Gandhi, has been asked by the Central leaders to take steps to douse dissident activities in the party to ensure stability of the coalition government.
The party high command has also told the state leaders to extend the support to Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar who has been allegedly harassed by the central government agencies in a money laundering case.
Sources said Siddaramaiah reportedly spoke to Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi and asked him to refrain from dissident activities.
