Bengaluru, Sep 21: A low-pressure area that has been created over Bay of Bengal has increased chances of rainfall for three days in several districts of the state commencing from Friday September 21, the meteorological department said.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday September 20, director of Indian Meteorological department, S R Patil, predicted rainfall mostly in south inland and north inland regions. He said that there is also likelihood of wind coupled with rain in coastal Karnataka. Therefore, warning signals have been given to these districts, he informed.
The city itself received heavy rainfall on Thursday afternoon. The areas which got torrential downpour include Vidhana Soudha, Shantinagara, Adugodi, M G Road, Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar, Vijayanagar, Srinivasanagar, Hanumanthanagar, Mysuru Road, and Kengeri. As water rushed into low-lying roads in huge quantities, traffic was affected in many areas.
