Udupi: Aged woman tries to commit suicide - rescued, hospitalized

Udupi, Sep 23: A woman who was trying to jump into Udyavar river on Saturday September 22, was rescued by local people and volunteers of women's helpline. The woman reportedly was claiming the river to be her residence.

The woman has since been admitted into the district government hospital here. During her interaction, she claimed herself to be Nagamma and gaveher daughter's name as Laxmi. As she has been giving confusing replies about her native place by claiming herself to be hailing from Gangolli, Nittur etc her relatives could not be contacted.

Well-known social acltivist, Vishu Shetty, accompanied by women's helpline, arranged to admit the woman in the district hospital.
