Udupi: District level Yuvajanotsava inaugurated

Udupi, Sep 24: District level Yuvajanotsava 2018-19 was inaugurated by MLA Raghupathi Bhat on Sunday, September 23 in Town Hall.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest of the function Sheela K Shetty, vice-president Udupi zilla panchayat said, “Youth should give importance to cultural activities along with studies. Everyone has unique talents. They must gain knowledge in respective field and excel in it. The government is also encouraging youth to cultivate some unique talents by organising these type of competitions. As there will be side dishes in lunch, the students too should participate in some activities along with studies.

“There are many types of activities in which students can make use of their free time. Build confidence, work hard and you will excel. Never compromise with the quality of your talent,” she said.

President of the function Dinakar Babu, zilla panchayat president on the occasion said, “From last many years, Yuvajanothsava is being conducted. But our youth are not showing interest towards this. This attitude must not be continued. Youths of our district should take interest in this type of competitions.”

Folk dance, folk song, skit, musical instrument, Bharatanatyam, and pick and speak competitions were held.

Dr Roshan Kumar Shetty, assistant director, Youth Empowerment and Sports department was also present during the function.
