Doha: Noronha Brothers to perform at World Goa Day on Oct 19

Doha, Sep 26: After successful years in organising May Queen Ball and other community events in Qatar, Goan Welfare Association (GWA), one of Qatar’s leading and most notable community associations, is all set to celebrate World Goa Day 2018 in collaboration with Orbit Events and Marketing with traditional pomp and splendour on October 19 at the Al Riyadh Hall, Mercure Grand Hotel from 7 pm onwards.

The Goan Welfare Association (GWA) has been the face and voice of Goans living in the tiny oil-rich country of Qatar for the last 19 years. Ably led by inimitable Simon D’Silva, since inception, the association has rendered yeoman’s service in nurturing Goan culture and spirit among the large number of Goan expatriates. “The basic idea is to promote Goem, Goenkar Goenkarponn through music and language. It will display the real essence and identity of Goa,” says GWA president Simon D'Silva.

The star attraction will be Noronha Brothers, a musical duo, one of the best in Goa who carry a rich history together with old and new Konkani music to win the hearts of Goan music lovers. Kuwait based Socorro and Group will be an added attraction.

Peroz and Perina Pereira will compere the event.

In addition, local talents will perform with music provided by Agnelo Rodrigues. DJ Nelson will present scintillating music for the guests.
