Mandya, Sep 30: In a gruesome incident a person who cut the throat of his friend for the reason of casting an evil eye on his mother, surrendered himself in the police station and shocked the cops by presenting the slit head of the deceased person.

This incident occurred at Chikkabagilu village of Malavalli taluk near here on Saturday, September 29. Girish (29) is the deceased person. His friend Pashupati is the murderer.

It is said that three days ago, the deceased Girish had made obscene gestures towards Pashupati's mother. Pashupati was extremely upset on Girish for the same reason. However, Girish had sworn under oath to Pashupati that he had not made any obscene gestures or abused his mother. But the anger of Pashupati did not die down.

On the morning of Saturday, Pashupati took Girish on pillion in his bike and both went to Kolathur pond, which is at the outskirts of the city and hit him with axe as soon as Girish got down from the bike. Then Pashupati slit the throat of Girish and roamed in his bike with the head of Girish for more than 24 km before walking into the police station and surrendering himself.
