Mangaluru: Konkani Natak Sabha distributes prizes to inter-parish competition winners

Mangaluru, Sep 30: The prize distribution ceremony of the annual competitions conducted during the year by Konkani Natak Sabha Mangaluru was held on September 29 at Don Bosco Hall.

The competitions held during the year were elocution, singing and dance.

In the singing competition, below 15 years category out of city parishes Gurpur parish bagged the first place, Puttur parish won the second and Elyarpadav and Pezar parish the third. Among the city parishes, Cordel parish bagged the first place, Bondel parish the second and Bejai parish the third place.

In the above 15 years category out of city parishes Gurpur parish bagged the first place, Fajir parish won the second, Bantwal and Elyarpadav parish the third. Among the city parishes Cordel, Angelore and Shaktinagar parishes bagged the first, second and third place respectively.

Gurpur parish bagged overall championship in the children and adults category among out of city parishes. Cordel parish bagged overall championship in the children and adults category among city parishes.

In the dance competition Cordel parish bagged the first place, Angelore parish stood second and Cascia third place in the below 15 years category. Angelore parish bagged the first place, Cordel parish second and Cascia parish the third place in the above 15 years category.

Cordel parish bagged overall championship in all the competitions held during the year.

The prizes of the competitions were distributed by the president of KNS Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza along with Santhosh Sequeira, proprietor Santhosh Arrangers.

Vice president Sunil Menezes, general secretary Judith D’Souza, treasurer Jerald Concessao and joint secretary Jossy Theodore, Raymond D’Cunha, Jerald Towers, Adolpus (Dolla) Cutinha, Ronald Tauro Don Bosco hall manager Boniface Pinto among others were present.

President Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Vice president Sunil Menezes read the list of prize winners and congratulated them on behalf of Konkani Natak Sabha and rendered vote of thanks. Raymond D’Cunha compered the programme.
