Moodbidri: Two arrested for attempting rape of minor girl

Moodbidri, Oct 3: In an incident reported from Moodayikadu Jangarabettu in Beluvai village near here, two young men tried to rape a high school student, who was returning home after school. This shameful incident happened on the evening of Monday October 1.

Relating to the incident, the police here have arrested Hanumanthappa (24) from Kushagi taluk, Koppal district, and his friend, Anand (22). They have been booked under different provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

The victim happens to be a ninth standard student. She was walking alone home after school on Beluvai - Moodayikadu - Jangarabettu road when the two accused who followed her in a motor bike approached her in the guise of seeking directions but suddenly tried to rape her, it is said. When the girl shouted for help, her relatives who were working nearby, rushed to her help. The accused took to their heels. Later, the locals chased them down, and handed them over to the police.

The police have registered a case and are investigating.

    Good that a relative was nearby and locals chasing them arrested.What stupid are these youngsters.how stupid these youngsters are ,to attempting a schoolgoing girl ?Dont they have no sisters,at home ?would they keep quite when someone else try this on them?Not normal humans .not educated ones I am sure.Now put them behind bars .no case no court verdict.Let them rotten for life long.
