The commissioner should realize that for each ticket not issued, the bus owner & conductor are generating black money, not paying GST & therefore depriving the govt of income. If there are 100 passengers not issued a Rs 10/- ticket a day, then it is Rs1000/- per day per bus. Which of course is just an example. In reality it is much much more. The IT dept needs to get involved here.

    Dear Transport Minister,
Kindly implement below rule and regulations to Private as well as govt buses.
    01. The color of the bus shall be same to all private buses, without overlapping of any other color, unless the manufacturer cannot paint certain parts of the bus.
    02. The floor of the bus isle must be covered by inflammable and non-slippery rubber.
    03. Maximum speed of the bus shall not exceed 80/kph, with a speed control device installed.
    04. Each bus must contain first aid kit proportionate to the number of seats.
    05. Two 6-kg fire extinguisher if the bus is less than 12-meter long.
    06. The extinguishers must be suitable for all kinds of fires and placed in a designated place near the driver’s seat, with a sign indicating that place.

    Dear Jeevan,
As noble as your intentions are, most of the points raised by you are impossible to incorporate in India. Going point-wise:
    1. Having colorful buses is a part of Indian heritage. Bus owners take pride in having such buses. Colorful buses are in no way dangerous as compared to the drivers who drive them.
    2. The rubber floor is a very good revamp but bus owners will not want to shell out for such expensive flooring as compared to wooden/fiber flooring.
    3. Buses in Mangalore are expected to keep up the time else they'll lose license to operate.
    4. First aid kids need maintenance and people should also know how to use them.
5,6. Keeping fire extinguishers is good as long as people know when and how to use them.
    7. Most scrap looking buses in Mangalore are not even 10 years old. They will never make it to 20 let alone giving a fitness certificate to run them.
    8. A bus is not a car to have separate exits for all passengers! Even trains and aeroplanes don't have such facility.
    9. Such luxuries in seats can be found in top end luxury cars which cost a fortune. If you want such facilities then buy a BMW car, bus is meant for public use.

I totally agree with your points regarding bus drivers, but in India, just 100 bucks is enough to obtain drug/alcohol/disease/criminal free certificates.

Can the traffic police please issue hefty fines for the bus and lorry drivers for using the horns unnecessarily? Why should the bus driver horn when passengers are getting down or boarding the bus? Even the bus conductor blows whistle continuously thereby causing earn pain.

Police personnel should be placed near Valencia circle and issue fines so this noise pollution can be stopped. Fine them heavy and use that money for the betterment of the police personnel.

I am not surprised at all that City bus complaints are dominating at Police Office. Not issuing tickets is a situation is an internal matter which the bus owners may be able to resolve. However over speeding of buses.... not halting at designated bus halts and parallel parking to ensure getting passengers are common offences

It is worthwhile for the department to post police officers in plain clothes to get a clearer vision of parallel parking The best place may be opp. Mandove Motors in Hampankatta.

What about the footpath opposite Athena Hospital on Mother Teresa road Falnir? The construction equipment uses the road and pedestrians cannot use the footpath. It causes a great inconvenience to school children and senior citizen. Really cannot understand what the corporation or police are doing. For last two months the local residents are facing this problem, what are the police doing? It is very common for builders and developers to use the footpath or public places for their construction purposes.
