Bengaluru, Oct 7: MLC and state general secretary of BJP, N Ravikumar, demanded the government to issue a white paper on the issue of transfer of officials and employees of the state after the current government assumed office. He was speaking to media persons at Vidhana Soudha on Saturday October 6.
"After the coalition government rose to office in Karnataka, the only two things they have done is repeatedly doling out assurances of loan waiver, and indulging in transfer business. "The chief minister has been repeatedly bragging about loan waiver, but not a single farmer has been benefited out of it so far. No farmer has got the certificate about clearance of indebtedness. Normally, people who meditate and chant the name of the Lord get fruits at the last minute. The chief minister is chanting loan waiver, and it is difficult to say what kind of salvation his loan waiver scheme will get," he stated.
Ravikumar said that the loan waiver scheme has not resulted in benefit to anyone as it comes with 12 conditions. "Why would the farmers commit suicide if their loans are waived?" he questioned.
He accused the chief minister and minister, H D Revanna, nick-named 'Biscuit Revanna' of always getting busy with transfer of officers and employees. "In this government, transfer has been turned into a business and no other work is moving ahead. Therefore, it should come out with white paper. Teachers and Anganwadi workers have not got their salary since the last five to six months. Milk producers have not got their incentives. This appears to be a 'pauper government", he ridiculed.
Ravikumar wanted to know the amount spent to fill the potholes in the city roads, noting that as per media reports, three lac rupees has been spent on each of the filled potholes. "Did they fill holes with silver or gold?" he wanted to know. He criticised the chief minister for repeatedly leading a family delegation to the central government instead of the going with delegation of the coalition government. He pointed out that this a government belonging to a father and children, and the delegation did not have any Congress ministers. It is surprising that when discussing Mekedatu project, irrigation minister, D K Shivakumar, was not present, he added. He questioned the other ministers whether they are getting invites from the chief minister and whether they are refusing to be part of the delegations.
