Mumbai to host Juniorthon on December 23

Mumbai, Oct 12 (IANS): Juniorthon, the city's longest running and fitness carnival for children, will be held here on December 23, the organisers have announced.

Juniorthon aims to promote running as an active lifestyle for children and their families. Juniorthon will be followed by a curated carnival boasting of more than 50 activities including a mix of games, food, rides, fitness activities, workshops and a lot more for kids to have fun while being fit.

"At Juniorthon, we are inculcating the healthy habbit of running and going for outdoor activates amongst kids at an early age. Today's kids are very addicted to mobile games, gadgets and television keeping them indoors. This lack of outdoor activities leads to rise in childhood obesity and other related lifestyle diseases. Mumbai Juniorthon is all about children running towards a healthier future and supporting a good cause," Bhavna Mehta, founder and creative director, Party Sharty Entertainment, organisers of Juniorthon, said in a statement.

The last date for registering is October 31.

Following the run, Juniorthon will also showcase a special family carnival cum fitness expo with multiple workshops, curated shows, fitness activities and food pop-ups for a great family mêlée. The Juniorthon Carnival will be free for all.
