Kenya's Kiprop, Ethiopia's Tedla win China-ASEAN International Marathon


Nanning, Nov 17 (IANS): Koech Ezekiel Kiprop of Kenya and Kidist Fiseha Tedla of Ethiopia won their men's and women's titles respectively at the 2018 China-ASEAN International Marathon on Saturday.

Kiprop finished in 2:23:40, beating Ethiopian Habtegebrel Abebe Gizachew and Chinese Shi Yanghe. Tedla took the women's title in a time of 2:44:23, followed by her compatriot Kosgei Recho Jerubet and Chinese Yang Fengxia, reports Xinhua news agency.

Longlelecha Paul Kamomai and Kirop Helena Loshanyang, both of Kenya, won their respective half-marathon crowns timing in 1:09:08 and 1:19:20.

Some 15,000 participants from 16 countries and regions ran around the landmarks of Fangchenggang, a coastal city of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
