Kasargod, Nov 26: Protesting against the police who the BJP said, has been filing false cases against activists of BJP and Sangh Parivar on the issue of Sabarimala, BJP expressed its resentment at the left front government headed by chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan.


BJP district committee organized protest march on Sunday November 25, as the chief minister participated in the function organized for laying of foundation for the medical college hospital building at Ukkinadka here.

BJP state committee member, Prameela C Naik, who inaugurated the protest, said that a committee of devotees has undertaken strong protest against the left front government which has been trying to
destroy the faith system of Hindus at Sabarimala. She said that the government has been crushing the protesters with the aim of misleading the agitators. "The government has registered false complaint against BJP state secretary, K Surendran," she said.

The programme was presided over by BJP district vice president, Sadananda Rai. State committee members, V Balakrishna Shetty, Suresh Kumar Shetty Pookattem, district general secretary, Ramsh Kasargod, Manjeshwar Mandal president, Kolaru Satishchandra Bhandary and many others led the protesters.

BJP district general secretary, Velayudhan, welcomed. The police stopped the protesters when they were on way to the venue of the function where the thief minister was present. The situation turned volatile for sometime thereafter. Some CPM activists raised slogans against BJP with the aim of creating confusion. The police sent off all these people after issuing warnings to them.

Sabarimala: In the meantime, the police arrested eight persons including BJP state committee secretary, V K Sajish, when they were moving to Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa shrine along with the customary Irumudi.

The police asked these devotees to sign a letter undertaking to visit Sabarimala and come back within six hours. BJP activists prepared to move to Pmpa without signing the latter, in protest against regulations imposed by the police. Therefore, they were arrested, the polcie said.

On Sunday, a group of 80 devotees who were found chanting the name of the Lord near the shrine were arrest ed by the police and then released them at the police station on bail. In the meantime, section 144 imposed in the area will end midnight today, which the poice are trying to get extended.
