Milan rallies to defeat Parma 2-1 in Serie A

Milan (Italy), Dec 2 (IANS): Milan rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Parma 2-1 on Sunday, earning its first Serie A win in three matches, and provisionally holds the fourth spot in the league table.

Having squandered several scoring chances in the first half, Parma took the lead four minutes after the intermission on a header by defender Riccardo Gagliolo, reports Efe news.

With Milan forward Gonzalo Higuain serving a two-match suspension for being sent off against Juventus, it was Italian forward Patrick Cutrone who paved the way for Milan's win.

Cutrone drew level in the 55th minute on a powerful right-footed shot to score his third goal of the season.

Milan midfielder Franck Kessie completed the comeback in the 71st minute, when he successfully converted a penalty Milan was awarded for a handball by Parma defender Alessandro Bastoni inside the area.

Milan, which lost to Juventus and played to a 1-1 draw against Lazio, is fourth in Serie A with 25 points, two points ahead of Lazio, who will take on Chievo later in the day.
