Sporting Lisbon beat Aves, climb to 2nd in Primeira Liga


Lisbon, Dec 10 (IANS): Sporting Lisbon beat Desportivo das Aves 4-1 to secure second place in the race for the leader, just two points behind Porto, the current leader.

Dutchman Bas Dost was the main figure of the match on Sunday, scoring another brace in the 40th and 48th minutes. Nani scored next, practically on the edge of the break, and Diaby finished with the fourth in the 60th minute, reports Efe news.

The result leaves Sporting in second place with 28 points, two less than Porto, which also won 4-1 against Portimonense.
