Mangaluru: CAL Bendore unit organises ‘Maalgadyaa Sangi Nathala Festh’

Mangaluru, Dec 13: CAL Bendore unit organised an event for the senior citizens of Bendore parish with the name ‘Maalgadyaa Sangi Nathala Festh’ for the very first time in the history of Bendore parish on December 8 at St Sebastian Church Mini Hall, Bendore.

As many as 120 seniors took part in this grand Christmas celebration. The inaugural programme commenced with a prayer song. Fr Vincent Monteiro, parish priest, St Sebastian Church, Bendore and director - CAL Bendore unit presided over the programme along with Fr Anil Pinto, assistant parish priest and assistant director - CAL Bendore unit, Fr Rohan Dias, assistant parish priest, Stephen Pinto, vice president and Mavis Rodrigues, secretary, Bendore, parish pastoral council and Sujith Noronha, animator, CAL Bendore unit, were the dignitaries of the programme.



Steffi Veigas, president, CAL Bendore unit, welcomed the gathering. Fr Vincent Monteiro appreciated the seniors for participating in large numbers and also gave his appreciation to CAL members for putting up this beautiful and unique programme. Oswald Pais, senior person, spoke his experience on behalf of all the seniors. CAL members put up a well organised cultural programme which included Christmas carols, comedy show, drama, dance with santa, games for the seniors in which the elders actively took part. As a symbol of Christmas, Kuswar was served to all as refreshments.

The programme concluded with ICYM Anthem. Belisha Rego, secretary, CAL Bendore unit, thanked the gathering for coming in a large number and actively taking part in the programme. Anosh Pinto compered the programme. It was a fun-filled day and a day to remember.
