All banks of Udupi observe bandh

Udupi, Dec 21: Members of All India Bank Officers’ Confederation Udupi unit staged protest for demanding fulfilment of various demands, held in fornt of Syndicate tower, Udupi here Friday, December 21.

As part of nationwide strike called by AIBOC, all bank employees staged protest and all banks stayed close in Udupi.

Various demands proposed by the members are as follows:

• Providing full mandate for officers from scale I to scale VII
• For making revision in salary as per charter of demands
• To ensure proper work life balance for officers and introduction of 5 day week
• To settle retiree issues of pension updating and improvement in family pension
• To focus on core business and NPA recovery
• To scrap NPS and switch over to pension payment scheme
• To resolve issues in Catholic Syrian and IDBI Bank
• To remove the parity in pension of RRBS with public sector banks

They also opposed the proposed amalgamation of Bank of Baroda, Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank. They also urged the move to merge banks.

Shahsidhar Shetty, national president of Syndicate Bank officers association and joint general secretary of AIBOC, Krishnamurthy of Cooperation Bank, Shivaprasad Vijaya Bank, Vinod of SBI, Avinash of Canara Bank and others were present.
