Udupi, Dec 25: “No discussions were held as per agenda in the ten day long winter session. We had asked for discussion pertaining to ordinary people. Among 37 districts, 17 districts and 174 taluks are draught affected. State BJP had formed five teams and conducted survey of affected areas. There is no water to drink there,” said Vidhana Parishad opposition leader Kota Srinivas Poojary.

Speaking at tourist bungalow in Bannanje on Monday, December 24, he said that people unable to rear cattle are selling them for throw away prices. “Cultivation is destroyed. I had urged for discussion on them. But the government has failed to solve the loan waiver problem of people.

“The state government had assured waiving Rs 53,000 crore loan, but reduced it to Rs 34,000 crore later. It had deposited Rs 2.92 crore in the accounts of farmers. Loan waiver is just an eye wash,” he said criticising the government.

“Discussion on Tipu Jayanti was included as part of agenda on urging by opposition party leaders. But the government evaded it as it could not answer.

“As many as 1800 borewells are approved in Hosadurga taluk, Chitradurga district but the money is swindled. There were protests in the well of the house urging for investigations. The government has completely neglected rural areas.

“There are 5500 Bapuji centers in 620 villages. But there are no facilities in them except RTC. The government has faced a setback in it.

“Twelve people died in front of me consuming poison in Kichguth Maramma temple, Chamarajanagar. The government could have taken charge of the temple immediately. But it showed its incompetence without doing so,” he said.

He condemned progressive thinker Dinesh Ameen Mattu’s insulting talk against Pejawar Swamiji.
