Moodbidri: Man consumes insecticide before visiting police station

Moodbidri, Dec 25: In a strange incident, a youth tried to commit suicide by consuming some insecticide and then visited the police station here on Monday December 24. The youth concerned reportedly was frustrated by the burden of debt he had accumulated over the years.

The police admitted the man into a hospital immediate. On account of treatments provided, he is now out of danger, it is gathered.

The man who is fed up with his life has been identified as Rajesh (34) from Ontikatte here, who is a coolie by profession. He is heavily addicted to drinking and has borrowed heavily from various persons. Overwhelmed with the amount of loans he had raised, he tried to end his life by consuming insecticide and then visited the police station with the bottle of insecticide in hand, it is said.
