Udupi, Dec 26: "Sri Ram Mandir at Ayodhya is a symbol of a thousand years of tradition," said Keshava Hegde, organizing secretary of VHP south zone.

Keshav was speaking after partaking in the public 'Ramataraka' mantra chanting and religious meeting programme that was held on Tuesday December 25.

Keshav further opined, "The construction of Ram Mandir is the hope of national pride. It is the dedication of crores of people of this country. In addition to Ram Mandir, Mathura Sri Krishna's birth place and Kashi Vishwanath Mandir are also dreams of the Hindus. Let us all pray through religious implementation for the success of the construction of Ram Mandir."

Speaking on the occasion, litterateur and thinker, Veda Brahmasree Suralu Devi Prasad Tantri said, "Lord Ram has never said that he is God. He has become God through his character. Our Sanatan tradition has witnessed the ideals of and depicted him as God. Let the determination of building the Ram Mandir become strong by religious implementation of this nature and the people be united."

Leaders of VHP Narayana Maniyani, Suprabha Acharya, Sharan Pumpwell and Bajrang Dal leaders Sunil K R and Dinesh Mendon were present. Jayaprakash compered the programme.

In the morning the installation of Lord Ram's statue was completed through Ganahoma. Chanting of Hunuman Chalisa and Sri Ram Sankirtana took place after the installation till the afternoon.

When the government can acquire hundereds of acres of land to be given to Industry or for building a Engg/Medical colleges , I would be possible for them to do the same in Ayodhya for constructing a huge temple complex. I am sure the people of India and especially our Billionaire Industrialists could contribute generously for this cause. But If you insist that a particular exact place (precise latitude/longitude) is the birth place of Lord Ram then it is apparent that you are just interested in politics and nothing else. If I had money or power I would have bought 500 acres of land around this spot and started work on a sprawling temple complex befitting Lord Rams stature.
