Udupi: Musical evening by visually impaired held

Udupi, Dec 28: Cultural Co-ordination Committee, MAHE, Manipal and Asare special children home, school and rehabilitation centre organized a musical evening for the visually impaired on the eve of Christmas

Indira Ballal, wife of pro-chancellor, Dr H S Ballal inaugurated the programme. Also present on the occasion were, secretary Cultural Coordination Committee Dr Shobha Kamath and Dr Padmarani, director School of Communication.

Five visually impaired persons played different musical instruments and sang to show their prowess despite their handicap. Shivananja who works at DC office Mangaluru and his wife Puspha, Ramesh from Madikeri, Arunakshi from Mangala Jyothi Integrated School Mangaluru, Anand from Karwar performed.

They sang movie songs and even recited Bhagavad Gita. Children from Ninada Music Group Udupi, Kumari Aparna Karanth and Adithya M Adiga played the violin. Programme was compered by Jaivittal while Dr Shobha Kamath welcomed the gathering.
