Ujire: Physical Education to be Co-curricular Subject: Dr Acharya

Ujire, Jan 14: Physical education will be included as a co-curricular subject in degree and university-level, said Home Minister Dr V S Acharya.  Speaking after inaugurating all India inter-university men’s volleyball tournament at, Ujire, he said that the State has to make further progress in sports when compared to others states.

In this background, government will support sports, yoga, NCC, NSS and other co-curricular activities. Sports residential schools will be started to encourage sports.  Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade, Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor Prof K M Kaveriappa, MLC Ganesh Karnik, MLA Vasanth Bangera and others were present
