Bangalore, Jan 14: St Peter's Konkani Kutam (SPKK), Rusthum Bhagh, off old Airport Road, Bangalore had their annual and also their first  ever picnic(after the formation of SPKK), on Sunday January 11  at Gold Coin Club, a green and quiet resort near Chandapur off Hosur road, some distance away from the city.

The bus picked the 60 members of the Kutam along with guests, from near Leela Palace where they had gathered and reached the resort at 9.45 AM. This resort is located away from the hustle and bustle of Bangalore city. It is quiet, lavishly green and the right place for the fun-loving people to enjoy and the busy people to rest and recuperate.  It has two separate swimming pools for the children and the elders, tennis court, billiards, kite flying, gym and other facilities.



The annual general body meeting of the Kutam started with the rendering of  prayer by Col Lobo, followed by  welcome address from Roy D'Cunha. Later, Kutam president Jochem read out  the annual report followed by the presentation of  finance report by Maxi Fernandes.  Mr and  Mrs Lobo were felicitated by draping shawls around them  for their active interest and doing a lot of good things for the formation of this association. Jochem Saldanha was unanimously elected to continue as the president of the Kutam  for two more years. Roy D'Cunha was elected as  the vice president,  Charles Noronha as treasurer,  Anthony Montiero as secretary and Patricia Lewis as joint secretary . In addition, six executive members were also elected.

Some resolutions were passed during the meeting. This was followed by a tasty lunch provided by the resort. Games were conducted by Roy D'Cunha. Separate games for the elders,  children, teens and composite games for men and women  were also conducted in a jovial and smooth environment. Leroy Colaco with his base guitar,  played and sung lovely Goan, mando and Konkani traditional songs in addition to the old English  songs.  Baila, other Konkani and English songs were played  by  Simon Lasrado as DJ. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed this picnic with fun and dance. Everything went on well. Finally Col Lobo proposed vote of thanks followed by a prayer to thank God. The members left the place at 5.30 pm to go back to their respective destinations.
