Puttur: Ram Bhat Criticizes Efforts by BJP Leaders to Subvert Agreement

Puttur, Jan 14:  Honorary president of Swabhimani Vedike Ram Bhat has come down heavily on the local BJP leaders for trying to spread concocted stories among the Swabhimani Vedike activists by visiting their homes, over the agreement reached between the BJP leaders and the Swabhimani Vedike after having a dialogue on the issue earlier this month.

'The discussions held between the Sangh Parivar and the Swabhimani Vedike were of course, successful.  But an understanding was reached, subject to compliance with some of the decisions taken, by the BJP leaders here.  As steps have not yet been taken to implement the decisions in Toto by them so far, the talk of merger is still not relevant or ripe," Bhat analyzed.

“The BJP leaders must not try either divert or confuse the minds of the Swabhimani  Vedike activists on these issues. The dialogues were aimed at striking harmony between the two groups and will succeed only if the leaders behave in good faith and with harmony,” he said. He expressed his displeasure at the alleged actions of the local BJP leaders in distorting the relationship.

The Puttur BJP leaders appear to be not interested in welcoming the Swabhimani Vedike leaders into the party fold again.  The actions and words of the local BJP leaders  appear to be aimed  against the Vedike workers joining their party, he said.

While asserting that the  Swabhimane Vedike is committed to the decisions arrived at the end of the discussions held on January 2, Ram Bhat said that the Vedike will move ahead only after taking all the activists of the Vedike into confidence.  He has advised the Puttur BJP leaders to realize that haste always results in undesirable results.
