Mangalore: Academic Literary Conference on Jan 17

Mangalore, Jan 15: The Dakshina Kannada district Kannada Sahitya Parishat will organize a one-day academic literary conference on 'Education and Rural Development' at Jnanadeepa Higher Primary School at Mudipu here on Saturday January 17.
Briefing media persons at the Press Club here on Wednesday January 14, S Pradip Kumar Kalkura, president of the Parishat said the conference will be inaugurated by the district in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar. Zilla panchayat president Sucharita Shetty, Dr M Mohan Alva, and S V Bhat will be the chief guests. Veteran writer Dr Na D'souza will preside over the conference.
Gurudevananda Swamiji, MLA Yogish Bhat, Fr Andrew D'souza, K A Bashir Madani and Jacintha Periera will also participate in the function.
Manjunat Revankar, president, Jnanadeep School, Harikrishna Punaroor, Dr Devaraj, principal, SDM Business Management College and reception committee member Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli were present at the press meet.
