Udupi: St Mary’s English Medium School Celebrates Silver Jubilee

Udupi, Jan 17:
The silver jubilee celebrations of St Mary’s English Medium School, were held on Friday January 16.
 
Members of the Alumni Association and retired teachers, inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Episcopal vicar Fr Baptist Menezes presided over the programme.
 


Deputy director of public instructions C K Anand, zilla panchayat chief executive officer Manjunatayya, and deputy commissioner (DC) P Hemalata were the chief guests of the occasion.
 
DC Hemalata, speaking on the occasion said that the school encourages extra-curricular activities for the all-round development of students and added that her daughter also studies in kindergarten in the same institution. 
 
Fr Menezes congratulated the school administration and teaching staff on the occasion. 

Head teacher Myrtel Lewis presented a summary about the growth of the school over the past 25 years.
 
Mother of Sorrows parish council vice-president Arvin Alva, parish priest Fr Mathew P Vaz, and Myrtel Lewis were present on the dais. 
 
Varous cultural programmes were also held. St Mary’s students Pawan Sharma and Geetha Pai compered the programme.  Florine Paladkar proposed the vote of thanks.

    Just a couple of years at SMEHS,but loads of memories to cherish..It was the most wonderful 2 yrs at SMEHS. Mrytel madam, congratulations to you and your management on this special occasion..
