Bantwal: Konkani Weekly Organizes Career Guidance Camp

A career guidance and information camp for Mangalore diocesan Catholic youth was held on Sunday January 18 at St Thomas School auditorium, Nirkan, near here.  It was organized by Mumbai-based popular Konkani weekly ‘Divvo’.
 
Nirkan St Thomas parish priest Fr Edwin Correa presided over the programme and conveyed best wishes to camp participants.
 
Pingara Kannada weekly publisher and editor Raymond D’Cunha Taccode was the chief guest of the occasion, who called upon the youth to be confident enough to achieve something worthwhile in life and keep learning constantly.
 
Divo Konkani weekly editor and publisher Lawrence Coelho explained the chief objective of organizing information camp for the diocesan youth here.
 


Parishioner, Mysore entrepreneur, veteran writer, and poet Valli Vogga conveyed best wishes to camp participants.
 
During the morning session, parishioner, Mumbai resource person and Evershine Buildings Private Limited chief executive officer V T Lobo delivered a talk on how to forge ahead in entrepreneurship in the global era, application of IT, and need for multi-tasking.
 
Fr Antony Monteiro offered the Holy Mass exclusively for the gathering of youth at noon on Sunday and the parish choir group rendered melodious music. 
 
Veteran writer and Kallianpur Milagres College Professor Dr Gerry Pinto offered information on scope for diocesan youth in securing IPS, IAS, and government employment, the preparations and training involved in successfully accomplishing the set goals. 
 
Mangalore St Aloysius College Professor Judy Pinto delivered a talk on family ties and community living. 
 
Veteran writer, columnist, and poet J B Moraes, Nirkan parish council vice-president Stany Lasrado, Catholic Sabha parish unit president Stany Lobo, Fr Marcel Fernandes, taluk panchayat member Flossy D’Souza and zilla panchayat member Ida Suresh were present on the dais.
 
Around 960 youth from the parishes of all over the Mangalore diocese were benefited of career guidance and information camp. Naveen Kulshekar welcomed the gathering.  Alphonse Fernandes compered the programme.

    Dear Friends, It was an awesome programme which i never experienced in my life.I congratulate our parish priest Rev.Fr.Edwin Correa for organising this wonderful camp for the youth.It was an amazing day for us..we enjoyed a lot and all the participants were very active throughout the day.Once again Thanks for all those who took trouble for the success of this camp.
