Kundapur, Jan 28: After an ore truck rammed into his motor bike on Balebare ghat road near Hosangady in the taluk, Santosh (23), an engineering student died on the spot on Tuesday January 27 afternoon.

Santosh, who was an engineering student in Chikmagalur, was trying to get a passport, as he wanted to go to USA immediately after completing his degree. A police constable named Bhaskar from Shankarnarayana police station had accompanied him for verification of his address in connection with passport application on his motor bike. After getting signature of four witnesses on the application, the police constable asked Santosh to stop the motor bike on the road and started intercepting the ore trucks.
