Udupi, Mar 10: ‘Namma Angadi’, the three-day annual exhibition at School of Communication, MAHE, Manipal drew shoppers from all age groups through the second day of the event. The trendy fabrics and ethnic home décor attracted large number of women from in and around Manipal. Handmade books, palm jaggery and honey were other goods
which were a favourite among buyers. A number of children who belonged to the age group 5 to 12 years were kept engaged in activities organized for them.

The focus of the event is to help CWC (The Concerned for Working Children) to provide support and welfare to the children under this organisation. The items sold at Namma Angadi are handcrafted by local artisans of NammaBhoomi, Kundapura with precision and exquisite craftsmanship. The produce at the exhibition is born from the innovative ideas produced with the help of organic raw materials. NammaAngadi’s mission is to strengthen and expand their rural market by showcasing their sustainable products to the masses.The exhibition will remain open till late evening on March 10.

CWC is a non-profit organisation, founded in 1985 which is dedicated to tackling issues surrounding child labour and empowering underprivileged children. The NGO is also responsible for the conception of Namma Bhoomi, a community campus housing a residential school for underprivileged children.
