Mangalore: Sangh Parivar Activists Allegedly Threaten Journalist

Mangalore, Mar 12: B A Samvartha, a journalist with ‘The Hindu’, has allegedly been threatened by Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) and Bajrang Dal activists on Wednesday March 11.
Samvartha was on duty at around 11:30 am in front of the Hindu Samajothsava office at Bunts Hostel when some members of the two organizations surrounded him and asked him to leave the place immediately.
They allegedly threatened to break his limbs if he reported ‘against Hindutva’.
“If you want to be in Mangalore, then you better be with us”, they warned him.
Samvartha has already lodged a complaint at Kadri police station and sought necessary protection. He has also demanded appropriate legal action against the culprits.
Copies of the complaint have been sent to the superintendent of police, Dakshina Kannada, all the media offices, district in-charge minister, local legislator, home minister, Press Council of India, and to the Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Association.
