New Delhi, Mar 28: A 5-year-old nursery student was allegedly raped by a minor in Trilokpuri area of Mayur Vihar in east Delhi. According to the police, the incident, which occurred on March 14, came to the notice of the victim's parents only on Thursday.

The police said that the victim told her parents that one of her neighbours had lured her with toffees on March 14 after which he took her to his house. He then allegedly raped her and threatened her of dire consequences if she told anyone about it. After the girl informed her parents about the incident, they approached the police with a complaint. The girl's medical examination has confirmed that she was raped.

A case of rape has been registered against the accused at the Mayur Vihar police station and the police are further investigating the matter. The victim is a resident of Sector 25 in Trilokpuri area. The accused (identity withheld) is also a minor and is a student of Class X in a nearby government school. The police officers said the victim has said that she was playing in the area when the accused lured her.
