Bellary, Apr 8: Tourism and basic infrastructure development minister G Janardhan Reddy has criticized MLC Anil Lad, saying that Lad has been indulging in low-level politics by falsely claiming that he had received death threats. Reddy said he would complain to the Election Commission on the tactics being employed by Lad.
Speaking at a press conference held here on Tuesday April 7, Reddy said, the policemen have found out that the threat call allegedly made to Lad, in fact emanated from a SIM card issued in the name of Anil Lad himself. This proves that Lad himself had arranged for the call to be made and then raised a din over the issue, he felt.
He also recollected that during the last legislative assembly election, the cars parked in front of Lad's house had been torched. The present case makes one to guess that Lad had a hand in the earlier incident too, he said.
