Mangalore, Apr 9: BJP candidate from Dakshina Kannada constituency Nalin Kumar Kateel exuded confidence that the party will register a thumping win in the forthcoming polls, considering the extensive support it has been receiving from all quarters. He was addressing a convention of BJP Yuva Morcha workers belonging to Mangalore South assembly constituency on Wednesday April 8 here.

"BJP is a party which is glowing while the Congress is a sinking ship. The people want to re-install the NDA government that provided democratic and development-oriented governance. The party workers have to work to realize this dream of the people," he explained.

He held the Congress Party responsible for encouraging terrorism, naxalism and divisive forces. The people of the country have realized that the BJP is the only party capable of containing these forces, he added.

District in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar, Election Campaign Committee president N Rukmaya Poojary, MLA N Yogish Bhat, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, mayor Shankar Bhat and several other leaders were present.

DK district committee president of the BJP K Monappa Bhandary presided. BJP local assembly constituency committee president Guruprasad Shetty welcomed and delivered introductory address.

I would have voted for BJP but the problem is that BJP jumps into the arms of RSS prior to elections. The RSS, VHP etc. follow an 'extreme Right Wing' idealogy whereas the BJP is 'liberal right wing party'. Nalin Kumar might have intentions to only serve the Hindus if he is elected but he must realize that there are around 25-30 percent non Hindus who are a part of Mangalore's population and he needs to take them along on the path of progress but given the background of Nalin i think he will be just another RADICAL RSS LEADER .

BJP needs to realize that inorder to become a political force in the country and widen their vote bank they need to distance themselves from the radical VHP, BD and RSS. An ideal political party needs mass public support and NOT CADRE based support.

Nalianna! do you first of all know what is the full form of NDA . If YES, which are the parties left that constitutes the NDA. Lets talk later of making it to Delhi. I doubt whether Congress or any party for that matter will encourage terrorism, Naxallism or divisive forces. But I am dead sure BJP is the only party which encourages MOB TERRORISM. Want examples-Babri Masjid and the aftermath, Gujarat pogrom, Khandamal Massacre, and more recently Mangalore.

Thrown out of Uttar Pradesh after making a mess, it now wants to mess up Karnataka in the guise of entering South India. If Congress ship is sinking people will lend a HAND and keep it afloat. As regards development, the Nation is witness to the highest development and growth of the economy ever recorded in history of India under the stewardship of young and energetic Manmohan Singh (comparison to old and feeble Advani) and his highly qualified and intelligent team. (There are none in the BJP). There is no good reason why the UPA should be dislodged. Try your luck next time Nalianna.

Mr. Nalin must be getting some words from senior politicians of other party, he refer to sinking ship which was said by AIADMK chief, people know what kind of person Nalin kumar is, if he wins people can see more problems in coming, as long as RSS does the talking Mangalore will never have a dignified BJP, the last was Mr. D. Kumar, who was though a winning candidate was marginalized, it is a very well known fact, so if Mr. Nalin is elected more trouble are in waiting, people voted for a change in Karnataka for BJP, and they have the result, even a quite person like Dr. Achar has turned to villan, power corrupts the mind, people should use their brains before there vote, if there is violence, disturbance, it will only create more of nuisance, so Udupi / Mangalore citizens wake up and decide then though sit and cry, then criticising is of use, now you have the chance then you too will be blamed for the mess

I completely agree with Manu/Orissa. BJP does not stand a chance due to the atrocities towards minorities especially peace loving Christians. The nation needs a peace loving government and not Hitler's rule. We wish Mr. Janardhan Poojary, who is an honest Congress candidate, every success in this election. Mr Nalin Kumar, actions speak louder than words.
