Mangalore, Apr 13: Ex-corporator and Dakshina Kannada district BJP SC Morcha president U K Srinivas (65) breathed his last at a private hospital in the city on the night of Saturday April 11.

Srinivas, who was seriously injured in a motor bike accident four months ago, had been admitted into the hospital in an unconscious state. He was an active worker of the BJP. 

Srinivas, who was the district committee member of the union government’s planning implementation district committee, had functioned as the district BJP secretary for one term. He had left his job in the police department and worked as document writer.

District in-chrge minister Krishna J Palemar, D V Sadanand Gowda, MLAs N Yogish Bhat, S Angara and Mallika Prasad, DK Lok Sabha candidate Nalin Kumar Katil, Karnataka Tulu Academy member Yogish Kanchan, BJP district president Monappa Bhandary, general secretary Srikar Prabhu and various other party leaders, activists etc., have condoled his death.
