Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Apr 17:"The BJP will win the Lok Sabha election from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency by a lead of over 50,000 votes. Advani, who has the courage and firm resolve to take tough decisions on nagging issues like ending terrorism, country's security and development, should become the Prime Minister. Please vote me towards making Advani our Prime Minister," requested BJP candidate from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency Nalin Kumar Kateel. He was addressing the audience at a meeting of party activists held at Maripalla on Thursday April 16.

He pledged to work honestly and sincerely for the people and become the voice of the Tulunadu in the Lok Sabha. He also assured that he would strive to realize the dreams of veteran leader Srinivas Mallya and will get the guidance of Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade in his functioning.

MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary blamed the Congress rule for the problems like terrorism, Bodoland movement, naxalism and slums. He asked the people to ponder over as to whether they need the congress that is hand in glove with the terrorists and hence, has not executed the death sentence of Afzal Guru, or the BJP, a party of patriots. He questioned the Congress Party as to whether it does not know that it was the BJP government that made Abdul Kalam the President of India. "Why do you forget that you refused to back Kalam for a second term, although you claim to be pro-Muslim?" he questioned.

In his address, ex-MLA Padmanabh Kottary said that the only achievement  of the Congress government, is that of price rise. He pointed at the soaring prices of rice and gold, prices of which have shot up, to drive home his point.  He also ridiculed the local Congress MLA for claiming to have given land to the agriculturists and said, the farmers got land because of the concerted struggle and not because of some large-hearted gesture of the Congress. He cited increase affected in widow and handicapped pension, waiver of loans, providing of loans to farmers at 3% per annum etc., as the achievements of the state BJP government.

Leader Chandrashekhar Ucchil, district general secretary Santosh Kumar Rai, district vice president Chandrashekhar Ullal and taluk panchayat member Somappa Kotian also spoke on the occasion.
