M'lore: VHP, Bajarang Dal to Organize Mass Marriage on Apr 18

Mangalore, Apr 17: A mass marriage ceremony is being organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP), Bajrang Dal and Maruti Seva Samiti at Mosaru Kudike Katte of Attavar on Saturday April 18 at 6.30 pm.

The committee set up for this purpose will, besides conducting the marriage ceremony, also hold mass Satyanarayana puja on the occasion. The mass marriage programme is being held by the committee for the first time, informed Krishnamurthy, VHP general secretary, speaking at a press conference held here on Thursday April 16.

Nine couples have registered their names for the marriage and there is no restriction on the number of guests who can be invited for the function by the brides and grooms, he explained.

The committee will provide the 'Mangalasutra' and also the clothes required for the couples.

Sri Vishweshteertha Swamiji, Pejawar Math and Sri Rajashekaranand Swamiji, Gurpur Vajradehi Math, will deliver benedictory speeches on the occasion.

Nitte University chancellor N Vinay Hegde will preside over the function.

Krishna J Palemar, district in-charge minister, will inaugurate the ceremony.

Jagadish Shenava, committee president, M Vivek Prabhu, general secretary and Manohar Suvarna, treasurer, were present at the press conference.
