Moodbidri, Apr 18: Satish (25), son of Babu from Biravu near here, met a tragic death on Friday April 17, after he came in contact with live wire while climbing up the electric pole to attend some repairs.
Satish and some other workers employed by private electric contractor Balakrishna were engaged in the repair work. Reportedly, Balakrishna asked Kumar, one of the workers, to put off the main switch and that Satish who went up the pole later, unexpectedly was electrocuted. Some claim, that only one of the two main switches had been put off due to negligence, resulting in the tragic accident.
A case has been registered in the local police station against Kumar and Balakrishna in this connection.
