Mumbai: Fire breakout in Wadala highrise suffocates 15 people

Mumbai, Jun 21: Fifteen residents suffered from suffocation after a fire broke out at a building in Wadala East on Friday at around 3.30 am. Police said that the residents were rushed to KEM hospital.

The Mumbai fire brigade received a call on Friday, at around 3.33 am about flames on the first floor of Shree Ganesh Sai - a ground plus 21-storey building.

Four fire engines, water tanks and an ambulance were immediately dispatched to the site.

The smoke caused suffocation to around 15 residents who were instantly rushed to KEM Hospital. Officials have confirmed that all the residents are in stable condition.

The fire was extinguished by 3.56 pm, claimed the fire brigade officials.
