Bangalore: `United World Week' Observed

Bangalore, May 15:  United World Week was observed in Bangalore on 10th May 2009, which was the concluding day of the United World Week world over.

Various workshops of music, theatre and art all based on the theme on building up fragments of fraternity were held.

The highlight of the day was the international telephone link up with cities from all over the world, where there was an exchange of experiences and concrete actions done to contribute to a United World.



It was a great joy to greet all the youth gathered together in various parts of the world who were linked in this conference call.

This year the United World Week was launched on the 1st of May at Loppiano, in Italy, with the title “United World on the horizon –a need, a project, a life style".

There were more than 4,000 youth gathered for this event, which was broadcasted on television and through internet. 

The United World Week is an activity of the Youth for a United World that is held every year. For one week they promote actions, debates, manifestations and cultural evenings in order to influence on the public opinion of their own countries. The climax of the United World Week is a telephone link up among the young people involved.
