Mangalore: Alleged Chief Conspirator of Pandu Pai Murder Plot Arrested

Mangalore, May 18: The police personnel of Dakshina Kannada district crime intelligence bureau have taken into custody Bejai Raja, who is said to have plotted the murder of notorious criminal Pandu Pai.

Police sources said, Raja was apprehended on Sunday May 17 morning. The policemen have already arrested three persons in connection with the said murder. Bejai Raja, who was an associate of Pandu Pai, is facing the charges of killing Pandu Pai with the help of three others, after serving drinks to him and then strangulating and stabbing him while travelling in a car from Hassan to the city.

Bejai Raja, a resident of Anegundi in Bejai Kapikad in the city, is accused of being involved with illicit liquor trafficking. Pandu Pai also was allegedly involved with this trade. Raja, who functioned under the Hindutva facade, has also been accused in the murder of a person named Rajesh who had returned from the Gulf region, in the year 2004.
