Bantwal: Traffic Woes Continue, as Fly Over work Progresses at Snail's Pace

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, May 20: A huge container got stuck, having been sandwiched between the fly over and the road on Tuesday May 19 at B C Road, on national highway 48. As a result, the movement of vehicles was affected for a long time. The truck was later removed with the help of people, under the guidance of the policemen.

As the highway widening work is in progress here, the vehicles are expected to move on the deviation provided therein. However, the container truck continued to move on the highway and got stuck under the fly over.

Because of the very slow progress of the fly over and road widening work at B C Road, traffic jam has been a routine affair. The congested alternative road has to accommodate huge trucks, posing further problems for the traffic policemen. As the entire town gets inundated in clouds of dust, the policemen too find it difficult to discharge their duties properly.
