M’lore: Murder Attempt on Insurance Development Officer: Three in Judicial Custody

Mangalore, May 22: Three persons, who had tried to kill Vithal Salian (48), a development officer with an insurance company, on Tuesday May 19 relating to some financial dealings, were arrested by the Suratkal policemen. Reportedly, one of the daily deposit collectors of the finance firm Salian has been running in the name of his wife had hatched the murder plot as Salian had questioned him about some financial irregularities and failure to pay up his dues. The policemen also recovered the weapons used by the alleged culprits.

On being produced in the court, the court remanded them to judicial custody for 14 days. The accused are Vivek Amin (22), Shailesh (18) and Santosh (18) from Katipalla Third Block. Vivek, who was angered by the fact that he was asked by Salian to remit the daily deposit collections made by to the finance firm promptly, assaulted him with the help of his accomplices, using a sword and iron rods.

Suratkal police station in-charge Arun R Naik and sub-inspector Ramesh Kumar have registered a case and investigations are on.
