Kundapur: MP Raghavendra Promises to Lay Stress on Regional Problems

Kundapur, May 23: BJP MP B Y Raghavendra, who recently won the Shimoga Lok Sabha seat, promised to make an in-depth study of the problems afflicting the people of the coast and the malnad regions and put in maximum efforts to develop them through special grants. He was speaking to reporters, before the victory rally organized by Byndoor block BJP committee, was flagged off from Siddapur in the taluk.

"We will bring pressure on the union government and the state government to find a permanent solution to the problem of sea erosion that has turned the lives of people living near the sea miserable. Modern technology perhaps, will help the governments to halt the aggression of the sea. Development of Malnad will be given priority to solve the naxal problem. I will also give importance to the integrated development of Gangolly mini port," Raghavendra explained.

The MP said, improvement of roads, power supply, drinking water supply position etc., will be achieved in the constituency through special grants. He promised to stand up to the expectations of the people of the state, who have reposed faith on his party, by increasing their vote percentage to the BJP from 36% to 42%.

Former president of the State Finance Commission A G Kodgi, Byndoor MLA K Lakshminarayan, local MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty, Kundapur Town Planning Commission president Mani Gopal and others were present.

The victory procession that was inaugurated at Siddapur, culminated at Tallur after passing through Shankarnarayan, Ampar, Karkunje, Vandse, Kollur, Areshirur, Byndoor, Shirur, Uppunda, Navunda, Trasi, Gangolly and Hemmady.
