Beltangady: Married Man Ends Life with Unmarried Woman

Beltangady, May 23: The love affair between a married man and an unmarried woman came to an abrupt end with both choosing to commit suicide. The decomposed bodies of the two were found from a forest in the taluk on Friday May 22.

Reportedly, Krishnappa Poojary (43), son of the late Koragappa Poojary from Belal village, who is married, had fallen in love with Prabhavati (25), daughter of Elyanna Poojary from Ermala village. Both of them ended their lives by hanging themselves from a tree inside the forest located adjacent to their homes, about a kilometre away. Although they supposedly died on Monday night, the bodies were recovered on Friday.

Krishnappa, who eked out a living by working as daily wager, war married. He lived away from his family comprising of wife and grown up daughter, since the last ten years.  Prabhavati was a bidi roller and reportedly the two had an ongoing love affair since about the last two years.

Both went missing since Monday last. After a thorough search, their bodies were found on Friday. Beltangady sub inspector B G Subbapooramutt and staff visited the spot and registered cases of unnatural deaths.
