DK, Udupi Congress Celebrate UPA Swearing in

Mangalore, May 24: The Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee organised a vehicle rally in Mangalore on Friday in the city to celebrate the splendid victory of Congress and to mark the oath taking ceremony of Dr Manmohan Singh’s cabinet. 

 
The rally was inaugurated by District Congress Vice-President Ivan D’Souza at Committee office in Hampankatta. Addressing the gathering, he said that UPA will give stable and secure government to the people.
The rally passed through Light house hill road, Jyothi circle, Bunts hostel circle, PVS Circle, Lalbaugh, Ladyhill, KSRTC, Bejai, Nantoor, Kadri, St Agnes,Balmatta, Kankanady maidan. Congress Leaders and party workers were present.

In Udupi

Udupi Block Congress Committee celebrated the swearing in ceremony of the Congress led UPA government at the Centre by organising a vehicle rally in and around Udupi.

The rally took off at Congress Bhavan at Nayarkere, Brahmagiri.

Congress leader Pramod Madhwaraj flagged off the rally which passed through Kinnimulky, Kadekar, Ambalpady, Karavali junction, Thottam, Tenkanidiyoor, Kallianpura, Ambagilu, Manipal and reached Udupi service bus stand.

The party workers fired crackers to mark the celebrations. District Congress President M A Gafoor, Udupi Block Congress President Diwakar Kundar, Manjula Prasad, Dr Sunitha Shetty, Harish Kini, Keerthi Shetty and others were present on the occasion.
