Minorities Live in Fear, says Writer G Rajashekhara

Deccan Herald

Mangalore, May 24: “A criminal atmosphere is being created in the coastal districts as a result of the unholy coalition of seers, Sangh Parivar and journalists. Minority people in the region live in a fearful atmosphere,” lamented writer G Rajashekhara.

He was speaking at a protest meet orgnised by the Popular Front of India (PFI) to demand an enquiry into the death of Karani Matheen, a resident of Kandlur, and to condemn the anti-minority policy of the government at Shastri Circle in Kundapur on Saturday. He said that the enquiry into the Matheen death case should be conducted excluding Kundapur Police. “Muslims in the region are neither citizens of Pakistan nor of Afghanistan. They were born here and should be allowed to live as per the privileges of Indian Constitution.” He pointed out that there is an organised set up and brokers to sell cows which do not give milk. However, those communal forces are engaged in spreading rumours that only Muslims transport cows illegally, he added.

Karnataka Komu Souhardha Vedike Udupi district President Janardhan Bhandarkar said that the local police inspector should be removed immediately and a judicial probe should be ordered to facilitate the smooth conduct of enquiry into Matheen death case.

Janapara Vedike state convenor Shriram Divana, Dalitha Sangarsha Samiti district leader Jayan Malpe and former Zilla Panchayat president Dr U Vanajakshi were present. PFI Dakshina Kannada district president Anwar Sadath presided

Dear Shanawaz, I do not agree with you this time. Firstly this is not meeting but protest. Please dot not comment as a congress activist, you cannot say that only BJP behind all these. Of course I agree with you Congress is less communal than BJP. But RSS is responsible for all these. There are RSS cadres actively working in Congress too. PFI a socio-cultural organization in India, working on issues related to minorities and backward communities all over India. For your information, Karani Matheen was active member of PFI. Hence it is their right to protest & fight. & also fighting against injustice & retaliation is related each other.

Dear All, We all do mistakes.BJP or organizations attached to them did commit some serious disturbances till recently. Let us hope that they have realized this. I sincierly feel that the top brass of BJP and their associates have changed their strategies since declaration of election results. Let us give them another chance and i am sure that BJP will give priorities to main issues that matter to the common man.

The murderers are very less in the society..!!! It may be better to kill them all, instead of conducting enquiry and letting them free to do more murders. I hope this way this menace can be eradicated from the soceity...?
