Puttur: JD (S) Designs Have Failed to Bear Fruits - DVS

Puttur, May 27: Udupi-Chikmagalur MP D V Sadanand Gowda posed a challenge to former state Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to merge the JD (S) Party with the Congress and face the BJP politically. "Kumaraswamy's plans to bag a berth in the central cabinet have failed. He had shed shame and self-esteem, to covertly knock at the doors of Sonia Gandhi's home in an attempt to become central minister and harm the BJP," he noted.

He was addressing a gathering of voters and fans, at a programme organized by Puttur constituency BJP committee here on Tuesday May 26, to thank the voters for their support to the party.

"The JD (S) had entered into an internal understanding with the Congress before the poll. As the polling date drew nearer, it shed inhibitions and openly supported the Congress Party with the sole aim of defeating the BJP. But it failed miserably, as the blessings of the voters are with the BJP," DVS said. He also said that his party would not tolerate, if the centre tries to play spoilsport in the matters relating to the state’s development. He also sought full cooperation of central ministers S M Krishna and M Veerappa Moily towards achieving the state's progress.

In his address, Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, his priority would be the protection of Hindutva and development of the district.  He pledged to visit voters by going to all the villages in the constituency and protest against the union government if it metes out step-motherly treatment to the constituency. "As far as development of the district is concerned, there will not be any politics involved," he declared. He also expressed his pride for being identified as a Rashreeya Swayamsevak Sangh's activist rather than a MP.

District in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar, Coastal Development Authority chairman B Nagaraj Shetty, MLC Ganesh Karnik, Puttur MLA Mallika Prasad and several other leaders were present.

Earlier in the day, a victory procession was taken out from Darbe Circle in the town to Kille Maidan, the venue of the meeting.
