Udupi: MP Prahlad Joshi Urges LIC to Reconsider Decision to Invest in Share Market

Udupi, May 27: MP Prahlad Joshi has urged Life Insurance Corporation of India to reconsider its decision to invest the public money in the share market. He was addressing the 10th biennial conference of National Federation of Insurance Field Workers of India held at Ammani Ramanna Shetty Memorial Hall here, after inaugurating it on Tuesday May 26.

"Although we repeatedly drew the government's attention to the fact that signing of GATT and WTO agreements would be detrimental to the interests of public sector undertakings, the government went ahead and signed them. We will question these moves at the parliament sessions," Joshi said.

Federation former secretary G V S Mani, ex-president Madhu Dandavate, former general secretary K Chandrashekharan, Uttam Jagadane and various other leaders were present.

Coordinator of the conference Vishwanath welcomed. D Jeevan Kumar presented the programme.
